Silver Jeans Co. Blog
Have you ever tried on a pair of Silver Jeans? If not, then you really should. Until about a year ago, I only wore one particular brand of jeans and thought that they fit me soooo great, but that was just not the case. And worse, I didn’t really notice it until I tried a on a pair of Silver Jeans Co jeans. What makes them different is that they have a relaxed hip and thigh area while the legs maintain a great fit that is snug without being tight. They have various styles, fits and lengths. And compared to the jeans I used to wear, these hold up so much better and aren’t stretching out throughout the day as I’m wearing them. My favorites right now are the Silver Jeans Co. Suki Jegging. I have not found a better jean yet. Come into The Stockroom, try on a pair and watch as your body transforms in front of you by simply putting on a better fitting jean.
Fall & Winter Staples: A 2013 Reflection Sometimes it can be hard to continuously put together exciting, new outfits but we have a plan to help you put together simple and easy ones that keep you looking fresh just by keeping a few basics in your closet. The first step to being able to create quick and simple outfits is to cover all your basics. You should always have these staple items in your closet and they should fit you properly: Black tank- While the white tank has its place (at the gym or to sleep in), a black one is more universal, you can dress it up with dark jeans or a skirt and it's always great for layering. An Interesting button-down shirt- Fitted ones will get the most wear, they are easier to tuck in and look sharp. This is a great basic because a button-down is a simple way to elevate a pair of jeans. Jeans- A great pair of jeans is worth paying a little extra for. Look for a pair that is a darker wash, boot-cut or skinny depending on your shape, stretch denim is always more comfortable, look for 1 or 2% spandex. You want the jeans to follow your curves yet keep their shape. Just For You offers Silver Jeans Co. jeans and they are absolutely fabulous, pictured above. Cardigan- Get one in a neutral shade so it will go with a lot, and a longer style that hits at the hip is the most figure flattering. Don’t buy one that is any longer than your hip because it can begin to look slouchy and will do nothing for your figure. Black Dress- The LBD is a cliche for a reason. Make sure that the cut of the dress is the most figure flattering for your specific shape and figure. Trying on several styles will help you decide which style dress will flatter your figure best. Pencil skirt- Should be tailored to graze the top of your knees. A high-waist skirt will add a touch of high fashion but a skirt that rises too high can make a good outfit look cheap. Just For You offers Silver Jeans Co. jeans and they are absolutely fabulous. Blazer or Jacket Blazer- A distinct blazer can bring sophistication to any outfit. Add a scarf and you can go anywhere. Khaki trench coat- This piece is structured and stylish, a true classic. Something you can use for layering from fall to spring. Fleece vest- This piece is perfect over a turtleneck or under a coat. A vest offers a great deal of versatility in the south's unpredictable seasonal weather. Stay away from one that is too thick and bulky, you want it to fit to your body not make you look like a marshmallow. Chunky Knit sweater- Both comfortable and stylish. Paired over skinny jeans and tall riding boots and nothing can stand in your way! When you have a good basic pallet to build on, all it takes to make simple outfits that pop is pairing one special piece that is versatile. For instance, wear the LBD with a blazer or other tailored jacket, and add some patterned tights, boots and a colorful scarf. It can be that easy to make an outfit special and has you looking snazzy all season long. A few other outfit options: You can pair together jeans, white button-down shirt, khaki trench coat and a bright scarf with shoes that fit your mood and outing. Also try the pencil skirt, black tank, cardigan and tights with heels. All it takes is a little smart planning in your closet and you can look good by only adding a few touches to your wardrobe of staple pieces. JFYbrand Team Member, Lindsey

Best Advice Received There is nothing better than a good friend’s advice when you go shopping. Sometimes making a decision on your own can be very hard to do, especially when considering clothing. But if you ever do shop alone then you have probably done the same thing that I and many others have done… I imagine that my best friend is there with me and try and think what she would say if she saw me in that dress, top or what have you. So to help, we have collected some of the best tips our friends have given us about fashion and shopping. -Do not camouflage yourself with drab colors, super loose fitting clothes, enhance your assets and best qualities. -On that note: NEVER PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIZE OF THE CLOTHING YOU’RE TRYING ON! -Take the time to try on. -Wear your clothes with confidence and a luminous stature. -Trends fade so make sure you have classic, timeless pieces. The pieces to spend money on are the essentials: -1 pair of well fitted jeans. -If you find an especially flattering fit, go ahead and buy a second. -1 little black dress. -1 good fashionable jacket. -1 good pair of boots. Always check out every angle. The back has to look as good as the front! JFYbrand Team Member, Lindsey
Shopping can be an overwhelming task if you let it. We want to share with you three easy tips that can help you stay calm, cool and collected. 1. Get an idea of what you want from your seat on the couch. We only have so much time to shop and when we don’t know what we want or need it can become hectic. We at JFYbrand do not want this for you. Instead, check out our website where we post new items daily before coming into the store. Having in mind a few things can help us help you. 2. Stay cool and refreshed. It is still a little warm outside and the humidity is rather unpredictable so it is always a good idea to bring along a refreshment. At the front of our store, we have a small fridge with cold water and sodas—or when the weather turns and there is a chill in the air we also have hot coffee and tea. When you get too hot or too cold you probably don’t want to spend your time out shopping, so we try to off set that by providing refreshment for our clients. 3. Lastly, trust where you shop. Here at Just For You The Stockroom, our sales associates do their best to help you find something you love. We want you to look and feel your best, so one of our top priorities is to be honest with our clients. Our stylists have been around women of all shapes and size they are also familiar with our products a lot so they know what they are talking about and you can trust our opinion. -JFYbrand Team Member, Lindsey
When it comes to fashion and how to dress, some of us may get a little lost in translation while others can get so caught up in a look that we completely lose our own voice in the mix. The way I see it, how you dress and show yourself is just another form of self-expression; and you should feel as good in the clothes as you do about the clothes. You can dress appropriately for age, body shape and occasion and still look stunning. Here’s how, with a little help from the boutique down the street, JUST FOR YOU The Stockroom, or at JFYbrand.com. First off, keep in mind your true, current body shape. I know that I am not the size 4 that I’d really like to be; but I know that I have broad shoulders, wide hips and am what you could call “full figured.” These are all things I keep in mind when shopping. There are several websites where you can go for help in deciding which shape you are based on your measurements. My shape is a spoon. Yes, you read that right, and I did not make a typo...I’m a spoon. But no matter your size or weight, it’s your shape that counts in shopping for clothing. A website to check out is shopyourshape.com. They even help you know which cuts are flattering and which ones are not. In order from left to right: Sharon is tall and is heavier on top with thin legs. I am about 5'5'', heavy on top with wide hips-- still not sure how I'm a spoon. Susan is tall and has a slender body, very balanced. She has long arms and legs but has a shorter torso. Andre is also 5'5'' and has more of a pear shape. Next, remember your age. If you are 15, don’t dress like you are going to the club. Also, if you are over 40, your club attire should have changed from that of a 20-something. Ladies, you know what is right and what is not. Just be honest with yourself. Now the big issue-- knowing what to wear and still having a style all your own. This is something that we at JFYbrand try to provide for our clients--a way to wear the pieces that are super popular while still allowing for their own style to be the main voice. If you see someone wearing an outfit that you like, try and find one of those items, not the entire outfit. Based on your body shape, those items will fit you differently; so pick the one that best suits your own shape. Clothing that is too tight or too loose can make you look bigger, show off the wrong attributes or just make you look and feel slouchy or uncomfortable. For example, Silver Jeans has a wide range of cuts and sizes with different detail on the pockets; if you have a wider bottom you don't want to have wide set pockets, because it will accentuate the width. After finding the perfect piece, then you can look for something else that compliments that. When picking out the tops for each team member, I thought about coloring and shape. Not everyone can wear the same thing, and the pieces that fit everyone are going to look different based on the body shape. Also, when picking out different tops, it is important to keep in mind the kind of jeans you plan to wear. For instance, you don't want to pair a boot cut jean with an oversized top like you would with slim jeans. Neither do you want to pair a slimmer cut pant or jean with a top that is so tight it looks painted on. Find a balance in size and weight of the pieces that you are wanting to wear. I am wearing a Monoreno top, "MacGuffin Top" size large under our "Autumn Canon Jacket" size medium with Silver Jeans "Suki Slim" W 31 L 31. Sharon is wearing a Monoreno top, "Poetry Reading Tunic Top" size large, Silver Jeans "Suki 17''" W31 L33. "Suki 17''" are mid rise, curvy fit, relaxed hip and thigh, and are a slim boot cut. Sharon is also wearing our "Fall Carnival" scarf. Susan is wearing a Monoreno top, "Allegorical Tunic Top" size medium, Silver Jeans "Suki" W31 L34. "Suki" is a mid rise, curvy fit, relaxed hip and thigh, and are a boot cut leg. Andre is wearing an Elan top, "My Heart Goes To You Sweater Top" size medium and Silver Jeans "Suki Slim" W36 L31. "Suki Slim" are mid rise, curvy fit, relaxed hip and thigh and are slim leg jeans. Andre and I are wearing the same style of jeans. But notice how, because our body shapes are a little different, the jeans fit us differently. Another great way to make an outfit your own is by the jewelry you add to it. No one has the same exact fashion tastes, so put a spin on a classic outfit by throwing on a new statement necklace—and you don’t have to automatically go to “The Statement Necklace” that 20 million other people bought. Try something you haven’t found before. Rings are also big statement pieces that aren’t going to be owned by another 20 million people. Fashion is as important as you make it. But you are the most important element. You should always look your best and be comfortable at the same time. This will affect your attitude and make you feel good about yourself and the way you look. When your wardrobe fits you properly and has a sense of style that you are comfortable with, your personality can’t help but shine through. -JFYbrand Team Members, Lindsey Photography by André
Summer is almost here and there are some things you just can't be without. Make these your staples and you'll be ready to beat the heat in style. 1. Something Emerald: Anything. Just wear it. It's the color of 2013. 2. A Cool Basic: Jazz up a basic tee or tank with some embellishments or design. We love the cut-outs on this one! 3. A Casual Maxi Dress: They look great and are so easy to wear. 4. A Party Dress: You'll need it for something-- a wedding, graduation party or just a hot number to wear out at night. 5. A Bright Tote: Wear it everyday, bring it to the beach. We love the floral and white on this one.
