Summer Style
Summer is almost here and there are some things you just can't be without. Make these your staples and you'll be ready to beat the heat in style. 1. Something Emerald: Anything. Just wear it. It's the color of 2013. 2. A Cool Basic: Jazz up a basic tee or tank with some embellishments or design. We love the cut-outs on this one! 3. A Casual Maxi Dress: They look great and are so easy to wear. 4. A Party Dress: You'll need it for something-- a wedding, graduation party or just a hot number to wear out at night. 5. A Bright Tote: Wear it everyday, bring it to the beach. We love the floral and white on this one.
Dress it up, Spring Style.
We have a lot to look forward to this time of year. Whether you're getting ready for spring break, formal or shopping for an Easter dress-- spring is the best time of year for fun and flirty dresses. Whatever the occasion, be sure to add a dress or two to your wardrobe. They're cute, comfortable and easy to wear.

Spring Break 2013: The Checklist
Three cheers because SPRING BREAK 2013 is almost here. With visions of sun, sand and drinks in your hand filling your daydreams, there's lots of planning that goes into those oh-so-fun trips....especially when it comes to your wardrobe! Most of us get that warm weather bug for spring break meaning most people have already made plans and scheduled trips to places like Cancun, Florida and the Bahamas. No matter where you plan to vacation this SB 2013, don't leave home without the fashion essentials. Check out our picture and we'll give you the run down from left to right. 1. A Bathing Suit Cover-up: I'm sure half of your suitcase will be filled with bright and barely-there bikinis, so make sure you have something fun to throw on over them. Most beach resorts are flexible about you just wearing your bathing suit around most of the hotel areas, but if you go to grab food or need to run by reception, it's always a good idea to cover up just a bit. We love this orange, ruffle top dress that is super light and fun. 2. Daytime Clothes: Spring Break wardrobes usually consists of bathing suits and that's about it, but if you plan to explore the city you're visiting, you'll want some outfits that are sightseeing worthy. We love this romper because it's one piece, so it takes up almost no space in your suitcase and it's one item and you're already dressed. Plus, this airy, lightweight material is made to breathe so you won't be dying of the heat while you're out and about. And for the ladies worried about tan lines, that tube top style is perfect! (Don't forget the sunscreen, though!) 3. A Fun Party Frock: You know you'll be grabbing your gal pals to hit the clubs or bars after hours, so make sure you have some fun going-out attire. Dresses are my favorite because they're easy and lightweight and all you really need is sandals and jewelry and you're set. It's a fashion no brainer. Plus, if you got a little sun happy and forgot to reapply sunscreen during the day, less clothing is good. The less material touching your skin, the better when it comes to a sunburn. 4. Jeans: I know. I know. It's hot. Why would you want pants? But we all know that even at the beach, it gets breezy at night so you want to be prepared for any cooler weather. Jeans are great to wear while your traveling or throw on an awesome top and some heels and you have yourself a going-out outfit. 5. A Beach Tote: We carry purses in everyday life to carry all of our essentials so a beach-appropriate bag is a MUST for vacation. You'll need a place to store your towel, sunscreen, glasses, reading material and maybe snacks and beverages, too. Oh, and don't forget to pack an i-pod for musical pleasure. Spring Break is just not the same without tunes to rock out to. 6. A Comfy, Do Anything Top: This crop top is perfect for so many reasons. It's light and super cute. Wear it over your bathing suit, pair it with shorts during lunch time or if you're lounging or getting ready in the hotel, this is simply perfect. 7. A Crossbody Purse: When you go out at night, you'll want to keep a few things with you like your room key, phone, lip gloss, etc. so a purse is needed. No one wants a huge, bulky bag so crossbody purses reign supreme. This fun, fringe purse is big enough for the must-haves but small enough to still be able to carry and have a good time. 8. Lounge Wear: We know you plan to party rock all week long, but at some point, you're going to want something comfortable to wear when you've got some down time. These flowy pants are perfect beach-wear. Wear them to bed. Wear them around the room in the hotel. Or if you and your friends decide to relax one night and have bonfire, these will keep you looking fresh and feeling super comfortable. Shopping for Spring Break is sometimes the best part so don't leave home without the goof stuff. Remember the essentials, have a great time and we'll see your tan, revived and relaxed selves when you return!
What Spring Will Bring
Spring is on its way and at this point, I think all of us are looking forward to warmer weather, sunshine and a wardrobe change. Fall and winter has their charm, but spring is a time for change. There are tons of trends we'll be seeing for the spring season, but a main one will be pastels. Every spring we see lighter, brighter colors. But not every season includes the pastel, creamsicle-inspired tones that 2013 will bring. You'll see everything from sheer, pastel tops to pastel colored jeans and jewelry. You can do colorblocking and wear a lot of it or keep it simple with just one pastel shade. Luckily, these color tones look great with denim and even white denim, too. Another spring 2013 favorite is black and white. These colors paired together are classic and timeless, but this season they are trendy and a must-have for any closet. Wear all white. Wear all black. Mix and match black and white patterns. You can't go wrong with these simple tones and they look great on everyone. Of course a pop of color is always welcome in the spring so don't be afraid to throw on a bright statement necklace with your black and white look to take your outfit to the next level.
Oscar Fashion Report 2013
Award season is one of the most thrilling and exciting times when it comes to fashion. We look forward to watching our favorite stars strut down the red carpet wearing some of the most gorgeous gowns by the most prestigious designers. The Oscars is a big night. All of the A-listers come together to celebrate the best of the best in movies--and this year, there were so many good ones that deserved to win. But when it came to the fashion, I was not impressed. Nothing stood out and the gowns were unforgettable. We saw a lot of the same trends in color. Lots of white and wedding-inspired dresses. We saw nude tones and stark black. There was some metallic out there, making the dresses slightly more appealing and some too over the top. A few stars even went with color, like Jennifer Aniston in Valentino and Kerry Washington in Mui Mui, which was a welcome surprise. Some of the must-see stars on the carpet were so disappointing. Anne Hathaway was a major nominee at the Oscars and she did look gorgeous, but that Prada gown did not. You couldn't take your eyes off of her bust, and not in a good way with those darts and weird seem lines. Amy Adams looked like a washed out cupcake in her Oscar de la Renta gown. Wrong color and way too many ruffles for her. Amanda Seyfried was another boring one. This was a big night for her but this dress was severely understated. Loved the print and the interesting neckline, but the color washed her out and the hair didn't help. Maybe if she wore a bold lip color she would have stood out more. A few stars did hit the mark. I loved Sandra Bullock's gown. The black. The sheerness. The details in the dress. She looked stunning. I will say though, whatever that hair clip was in her hair, it was all wrong. We'll forget about that this time. Another favorite was Charlize Theron. Her Dior Couture gown was so high fashion and stunning. Her short hair made the look so edgy. I also went with Jessica Chastain. It was a big night for her with her nominations for "Zero Dark Thirty" so she knew eyes would be on her. Her dress fit her well. The color was on target and she looked like a knock-out. Of course, there were a few train wrecks as with any award show. Helen Hunt, while we appreciate your attempt to wear an H&M gown on the red carpet, it was the most hideous thing I have ever seen. At least if you were going to wear that you could have ironed it. The creases in it threw me off and I was not impressed. Kristen Stewart looked like she rolled out of bed to attend the Oscars. And all of those frills and pieces of materal at the bottom, I was so confused by where she was going with this dress. Lastly, Helena Bonham Carter was a mess. She looked a mess. That dress was a mess. I have no words for what she was going for with this dress. As I said, award season is always exciting. We see great fashion. We see some terrible attempts at fashion. But it's always exciting to get the final look. And with an award show like the Oscars, you can't help but be proud of the talent that fills that room regardless of their fashion decisions. Until next year.... Photos from the Huffington Post.
